Cover design and spot illustrations for: “Omgaan met de dood in het leven” - a Dutch guideline for schools and teachers about coping with death and grief.
The cover contains a tree of life because death belongs to life and everything is connected. It can be hard to talk about death, especially with kids but it's such an important topic. This book tries to normalize these conversations and contains project ideas for teachers.

“I showed the grown ups my masterpiece, and I asked them if my drawing scared them. They answered:"why be scared of a hat?" My drawing was not a picture of a hat. It was a picture of a boa constrictor digesting an elephant.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry - from The little prince
'Once the little prince fell asleep, I picked him up in my arms and set off on my way again. I was so moved as I walked. It seemed to me that I was carrying in my arms the most delicate of treasures, that there could be nothing more fragile on the whole Earth.
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry - from The little prince

"And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry - from The little prince
