I am Amarins and I love colors, stories and licorice. I was born and raised in the Netherlands. In 2008 I moved to Berlin, where I live with my husband and two children in the lively neighborhood of Neukölln. Here I feel at home, although I do miss dutch cheese…
My creative journey started at the Willem de Kooning Academy (Academy of Fine Arts and Design) in Rotterdam, where I studied Interior Architecture. In Berlin I decided to follow my heart and shift my focus to illustration, my true passion.
My working history includes experience in the beauty industry, where I was part of a creative team and created hand-drawn illustrations for packaging design, advertising, a magazine and worked on various campaigns.
After that, I decided to start working as a freelance illustrator enabling me to further develop my own style. I worked for clients as Glossybox, Inpactmedia Publishing and Capital One (USA). Furthermore, I create personal artworks, which were exhibited at several locations, including the Neon Chocolate Gallery in Berlin.
About my work
As an illustrator I translate stories into images. I believe in their powerful influence on the viewer. Each illustration evokes emotions. An illustration can inspire or shock. An illustration can also stimulate reflection, prompt action or convey a concrete message.
I work with you by asking the right questions to distill your story’s essence into a striking illustration. I love to help you shape your story.
