It was exciting to work together with the talented writer Ba H. Luong to design a cover for Naked Berlin, a book about the nightlife in Berlin’s gayscene. The story is a celebration of life, and all that makes it worth living. That means parties. That means sex. But it also means love. And it means living a life that’s meaningful. The assignment for the cover was to reflect these elements and show lust without being raunchy. The design shows the contrast between day and night and the hidden world under the surface of the city, visualized by the architectural icons of Berlin.
About Naked Berlin:
Today’s Berlin is Europe’s gayest city where Friday parties last well into Monday. Yet, to get here, Berliners inflicted and struggled through the 20th century’s greatest tragedies. Four men, too witty for their own good, inflict their own tragic comedies, and learn that the party’s only fun when earned through the struggle.
